Post Actually that's not quite right.....

Double cream = heavy cream in U.S (at least in the NE), and must have a minimum of 18% butter fat. Not only that, whipping cream has a number of additives that make it behave differently to double cream (it doesn't hold its shape so well for one thing). Single cream = light cream. 1/2 & 1/2 is more like the top of the milk (something one doesn't get so much nowadays I guess).

As an English women living in America I may be new to low carb but cream I know about (which is probably part of the reson I now need to low carb LOL)
