That works great IF you are one of those who ISN'T sensitive to polyols or sugar alcohols. Not every lowcarb plan deducts fully these items and many people ARE sensitive to them.

That being said, a SAFER method of determing effective carb count (effective until you know how you react to them AND you are on maintenance and have lost all your weight) is to use the Hidden Carb inspector to calculate the total carbs, see over on the Quick Links section on the right or the orange toolbar above, under Tools. Just plug in the Calories, Protein and Fat Grams, and Total Carbohydrate Grams (nothing else) then hit Go.
