my guess is that it's a sweetener or some sort but not sugar exactly, so they didn't want to list it as sugar bec that's prob a turn off for a lot of consumers. if the total carb was 7 and the fiber was 0, then count it as 7. I have seen some unsweetened that are 5-4 fiber = 1. look for that kind. if you do a search on the forums, I'm sure you can find the brand names. I don't have them handy.
