Let me just add a quick thumbs up for Pilates. It does indeed transform the body. I've used the Pilates for Dummies DVD after researching things for a bit. I've got CFIDS and so cannot commit to any classes. It took me close to a month to be able to get through a whole "basic" routine, due to lack of energy, but even in that time I noticed a tremendous change. (Check Karen's journal for another entheusiastic booster)
