I'm also new here. I've been reading through a lot of journals over the last couple of days and I think when You go out to get the scale you should also pick up a tape measure and get all of your measurements if you don't already have them.
Many people in their journals mention losing inches even when their weight isn't dropping as fast as they would like. This is from building muscle while still losing fat(muscle weighs more than fat). If you take measurements regularly you'll be able to see that you really are losing even if the scale doesn't show it.
