Exclamation maltitol, glycerin, isomalt

hi butterfly3,

Yes, sorry to say but maltitol is a hidden carb. It is a sugar alcohol ..and is often used in sports bars and sugar-free candies made for diabetics. Check out the article on Sugar Alcohols in our Tips column, on the red menu bar at the top.

Some people find they can have one of these bars now and then, once a week or less often, without stalling their weight or stopping ketosis. For too many others though, they are notorious stallers, especially when consumed every day.

Here are a couple of threads our members have had recently on this very topic. Very interesting and informative readingThink about it. The label says it has calories. Well, where do they go?? They're not made of thin air ... nor protein, nor fat. Only thing left is carbs, whether or not there is a rise in insulin.
