I think the best way to do the blow-out is to do a blow-out hour, not day. So basically one meal, eat whatever.. pancakes, pizza, etc.. and then when that hour is up, your back on the wagon. This way you get enough carbs to "shock" your system, but you don't go overboard with eating bad food.
