Smile advice for lowcarb beginners

Hi Jenny,

If you click on "Tips" on the red menu bar at the top of the page, you'll find some great menu ideas from Karen Barnaby, world-class chef and all-round amazing lowcarber. More ideas and tips will be arriving shortly. In the meantime, here are some other web pages I think you might find helpful :

http://www.devtex.net/graham/low_carb_advice.htm

http://www.locarbliving.com/kit.html

Both of these sites have lots of info to get you started, and FAQ (frequently asked questions) pages also. Please look over these sites first. If you don't have unlimited internet time, download them to read offline, or when the kids are in bed and you can concentrate. If you still have questions, let me know. Both of these sites also have LINKS to other lowcarb sites, so the world really is at your fingertips.

About sugar and sweet cravings. Yes, you will have 'em bad until your blood sugar and insulin get levelled out, and that won't happen until you start feeding your body some PROTEIN during the day along with the coffee. I drink 2 or 3 cups of coffee too, but you MUST have something to eat for fuel - scrambled eggs, bacon or ham, some deli meats, tuna, boiled or devilled eggs, leftover roast or chicken...... So, protein, protein, protein. Don't just cut out carbs and replace them with nothing.

Promise me you'll click and read those pages I've put here for you, Ok?
Then, come back with questions, if you still have any!! and we'll help with menus.

'bye, Doreen
