You make a good point and as you read more posts here on the forum, I think you'll see quite a few responses that include encouragment to read the book for whichever plan the person being responded to has chosen, especially when their profiles indicate that they have not read any books about low carbing.
Yes, you are bound to see posts from people who have jumped into low carbing without having read anything and using information that they got from the friend of a friend which is often inaccurate or incomplete.
But keep in mind that not everyone reads well or has a good memory or comprehension of what they have read.
Whether exasperated or not, it's always best to keep your answer kind and courteous....and a gentle reminder to read the book is usually not out of line.
