Cut the raw squash in half and use a spoon to remove the pulp and seeds, same as you would a pumpkin at halloween.
Cover the cut side with plastic wrap, then place it cut side down in a glass baking dish. Put about an inch of water in the dish and zap it for about 10 - 12 minutes.
When done, the skin should give slightly when pressed. Remove it from the dish and take off the plastic wrap (beware of escaping steam). Scrape the interior with a fork. It should come off in convenient spaghetti-like shreds.
Cover with your favorite sauce and serve.
