I do have a lot of self control, but for me being on Atkin's and being told, certain things are off limits forever is too much for me to handle. I don't like to be told no and if I decide I want something sweet or starchy, well darn it, I am going to have it, so I think CAD is better for me. I don't feel like I am deprived of the enjoyment of some foods.
