fibre

If a food has twenty carbohydrate grams per serving but four of those are dietary fibre, does that mean that only sixteen grams are to be counted?

Can grams from dietary fibre "always" be excluded from the count?

With Atkins yes!

Lisa's right... and not to confuse anyone, but there is a slight distinction that is worth knowing. I deduct all fiber, but this is an interesting fact. Some fiber is DIGESTABLE fiber and is not distinguished. Here's a journal post that explains this, along with Dr. Atkins saying that actually only about 50% of fiber is deductible.

Sorry... don't mean to confuse. I think knowledge is always good. :)
