where oh where has my ketosis breath gone???

Hi I went off induction about 2 weeks ago. I've added strawberries, some peanuts, low carb zuchini muffins, homemade peanut butter cups, and more veggies to my intake. Of course I don't eat all of the above things in one days time. :D I might consume one of them with my usually foods a day. But since I've added the above my ketosis breath is gone. Maybe it's still there and I've just gotten used to it. I am still losing though about a 3lb drop from last week. I don't have ketostix I know that's bad. :nono: But I'd be checking all the time if I did. Didn't want to add that compulsion to my daily scale compulsion. So any veterans have any thoughts on this? Thanks Ellen

Ketone sticks often have misreads due to many factors. If you are losing and eating right... don't even sweat it a little.

Yup, Lisa's right. If you are losing, forget worrying about ketones! Hell, a lot of low carb plans work without even mentioning the process of ketosis. Especially if you're still losing, don't worry about your metal breath... or lack thereof. :)

P.S. Ketostix are really unreliable anyway. Even when I use them, I don't take the results too seriously.

I don;'t have strong keto breath all the time - comes and goes just like the BO and the urine smell despite being in ketosis so don't get discouraged about it - - as long as you stick with the program and drink your water you will be OK.

this is my second go-round with Atkins and the first time my breath was horrible all the time even right after brushing, this time I am drinking nearly double the water and my breath is fine most of the time.

water has really made a big difference, at least for me.

I have been going off ketosis during my period is this normal?--I stick to the eatting plan but my keto stix say no Ketosis? any ideas?

I didn't register on Ketostix during TOM either. I've actually gotten so I don't even use them anymore. From all I've read on this forum, they can be fairly unreliable and it's better to judge ketosis by how many carbs you're consuming and if the weight/measurements are dropping.
