I'm so glad I read these boards!
 

Hi all,

I don't post much, but I read a lot of the boards. Whenever I have questions I come on here and look around and most of the time I find the answers I'm looking for. Well, I'm really glad to have read the posts about cholesterol. I just got my numbers back and I was really thrown. I've been doing LC in one form or another since Nov, 2002, and I thought my numbers would be better. When I first saw them I thought wow, these are horrible! Here they are btw:

Total 305 :(
HDL 89
LDL 201
Trig 77

That 305 number especially got to me...and the LDL I don't like at all. But after reading about ratios I decided to see how mine stacked up. They're not bad at all - Trig/HDL is .87 and LDL/HDL is 2.26, both on the low side. I hope it's true that the total number doesn't matter that much. I'd still like to get the LDL down though! Although the post about women being OK with higher levels was hopeful.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who posts here, I've learned a lot in the past few months.
