Newbie Here!!

Hi all I am new to the Atkins Diet. Yes at first I was sceptical to but after one week six pounds wow. I know this is a moajority of waterweight that you initially lose in the beginning but I am already not craving the Carbs. I hope to lose 30 more pounds to get back in the Army Infantry and then ten more before I ship out. Welp look forward to talking to you all!!

Exercise

Congratulations on your good start! Use your infantry skills and do as much exercise as you can. That will speed the process and assure your success. You have to get back in shape to be in the infantry anyway, so hop to it:) If you run regularly you can knock those pounds off in a hurry.

Good Luck!

Actually besides the MREs in the Mess Hall the selections do allow you to do a low carb diet... And who we kidding once I am in as much stuff as I will be doing they will put me back on the 3000 calorie diet to stay energized

Hi TShip...
I saw on the news a while back the military was trying to revamp their whole meals/diet for the soliders. I think this was for mess on bases, not for the training. The Army has noticed an increase in weight of the soldiers over the years, so they took a close look at what they were feeding them. They are using more fresh veggies and less processed foods. It was easier and cheaper to feed the soldiers processed foods then cook fresh foods, but the results were heaiver out of shape soldiers.

I guess they want to keep the training meals carb loaded for engery...I don't totally agree with that, but who is going to stand up to an Army of One??

My husband is in the Army Reserves, lately it seems more like full-time army since he is always away. But he hates eating in the mess hall on post, not beacuse it taste bad, but it is so loaded with carbs.
