Huh. I don't get it.
I started OWL a week ago, so I've been having 20-25g a day now. The day after I started, I jumped from 253 to 254.5 and it's stayed there. Almost made me discouraged right off.
The last few days have been extremely stressful on the business front, and I haven't exactly been careful about what I've been eating. It's all in FitDay if you want to see it, but I'm not exactly proud of the way I've eaten the past two or three days. So with that in mind, yesterday I weighed in at 253. Today, it said 252. I checked three times. 252. Seems paradoxical to me, but there it is, in digital (albeit somewhat before-coffee-blurry) clarity. 2.5 pounds in two days. Is that the fabled "whoosh"? :) |
YOU GOT A WOOSHE!!!

Hi,
What can I say....this works! Congratulations. Saw your fitday past 4 days, you are doing fine. At last someone who eats veggies!!! Just keep it up! I heard that some people gain in the beginning of OWL, but now you've got it behind you. Good luck!!!!! Alina  |

There really is no way to escape those veggies, is there? LOL I've noticed that too. Though it appears my weight loss has been relative constant from one week to the next, they do appear to come in windfalls. I think it's a good sign for you since it means though your weight might be slightly fluctuating from day to day--which is very normal--the overall trend would be downward sloping, graphically speaking. I think you're doing very well! Good luck! |
Frederick!
LOL ....I knew you would be there to see this. I know how you feel about those damned veggies. Yes, I think they do the trick....don't you like any of them???? Alina |
Patience
Don't weigh yourself so often. Those ups and downs sometimes take a week to correct themselves. A couple of times now I've become depressed because I thought I should have lost more. Only to have that experience a week later. If you don't feel comfortable, return to Induction levels. I've been on Induction for three months now, except for adding a few nuts to my menu. Still, I have had an occasional plateau. It's normal. Enjoy, because you are certainly succeeding at this:)
Good Luck! |
S_Hysmith, congrats on you whoosh!!

Nope, can't do that just yet. I'm still waiting for my whoosh and as long as she's at my house, she's staying until I get it. :D |
Just make sure you poke some holes in the lid of the jar you're keeping her in ;)

 That'll teach us not to fret about that 1 lb up stuff... because sooner or later it's going to be 2 lbs down...
Just the way it goes when you're doin' it right!! Good job!!  |
It seems like this type of thing pops up from time to time on the board. Someone will cheat...then they'll wind up losing weight the next day. I've been thinking about it a lot lately so after your post yesterday, I decided to try a "calculated cheat" to see if it would work for me. I wanted to choose something that I would be able to eat the whole thing and run out of it...so there would be a definate end to the cheating. I had a regular sized package of M&Ms...then I continued on with the rest of my day as usual. I was SOOOOOO hoping for a little change on the scale this morning. Nothing...nada...zippo. So much for my theory, huh? Oh well...at least it didn't go UP. I'm back on track this morning and back to my 20-25 carbs/day.

Tricia... :bash:
No need to re-test the wheel, hon... Plus it's too early in the game to be throwing the system off! You're a lucky one today...I'd have to pay for that for a few days! |
