what a fabulous source of support

I have been reading a lot of posts. The thinks that may seem like small victories are monumental for us. The bath tub thing was priceless..being able to finally weigh yourself on a scale that only goes to 300 lbs??? These things are special for us but foreign to others.

This forum is fabulous we can share our weight loss of eight pounds and be cheered for it and not be looked at like we are aliens.

Try telling a thin person that at 300 pounds you lost eight pounds. The polite ones will nod and smile. The rudes ones may snort...where I cant tell.

Thanks to all of you for being so supportive!

I know that I would not want to be hit in the head with 8 pounds. Maybe we could practice hitting the skinny ones with an 8 pound weight - that would work for me.

The thing that thrilled me the most when we bought our house is that it has a large garden tub and I could comfortably take a bath. Now the front bathroom, I would need a shoe horn for.

My husband had me pick up a weight that represents my loss thus far and it was HEAVY. I can't believe I was carrying it around day after day. Then I remember that I am still carrying around 4 times that weight. Oh my. No wonder I feel so tired after I have been out on errands.

Yes, the Skinny Minnies look us up and down when we gleefully announce a weight loss of 8 lbs ... but I guarantee you they'd be running for their Slim-Fast if they GAINED 8 lbs!!! (evil grin)

I'm lucky at work: I have two friends (both slim & healthy) who follow a lo-carb WOL, and the rest of my team (even though they think I'm wacky for eating cheese and meat and leaving plain baked potatoes alone!) is very supportive and sees every lost pound as a milestone.

Kenny,

That bathtub story was great. We've all been there, or somewhere like it.

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
It's Great to be part of a team, instead of afloat all alone in an ocean of questions and doubts! the Highs are much Higher! and the lows are not so low ! because there shared! I'm not the only one who feels or has felt that way, seems to me there's nothing like someone elses "Been There Done That" to help out with the glitches! I'm so gratefull to have found this forum! I think it's the Best tool I've ever seen for helping me stick to the program. You commit to these people who are friends and understand, this helps keeps me accountable. It's really Great!! thank you all so much!
