My pot roast...
is a family favorite, and while my hubby supports my LC'ing, he does not want me to remove the potatos from the roast.
My question is, as long as I do not eat the taters, it is OK to cook the roast w/ them in there, right? Those carbs aren't going to escape and creep into my green beans and cauliflower & celery are they? Beth |
Honestly i'm not sure. I believe it will make your gravy more starchy which will add carbs.
I'm paranoid but I would eat my meat and veggies w/ no of the gravy and add 3-4 carbs for what you can't get off. Up to you though.... |
Some starch from the potatoes is likely to get into the pan juices, but how much is hard to say exactly. I'd say not more than 3-5 grams worth. If you're really worried about the few carbs you might get, try to get as much of the juice off the meat and veggies that you do eat; perhaps strain them out before making the gravy?

Thanks gals - I actually never use the gravy so I am in luck there. I think to be on the safe side though I will add the extra carbs, even if they might not be there :D
