Longtime, first time

Hello all-Well i started atkins about 10 years ago when i heard a dj (Neil Rogers)say that he was on atkins and he had lost alot of weight.Low carb has been a way of life for me,with periodic breaks and weight gain. The recipies i see on this site are awesome and i think ill have a better chance of sticking to it now.If i do low carb i dont have to worry about my blood sugar, and without low carb im on glucapage and this is without eating candy icecream etc sugars are 70-80 on low carb and 200 to 300 without low carb and drugs.I eat like a pig on both diets and loose with low carb. Some lessons learned along the way.
1.Drink water till the cows come home then drink some more.
2.Sugar is in 99% of food at store.
3.Deli meat is purged with sugar to add weight.
4.Bagged chicken breast is usually purged.
5.Stalls will come and go,but look at diet, hydration, and sugar if it wont budge.
6.Ive broken stalls with high carb for 1 day,and then wait 3 days to see results

Does low carb mean low calorie?well i went to an all you can eat prime rib dinner buffet and ate 6 pounds of beef and lost 2 pounds the next day!! Once i went to the great loberster feast in orlando and ate 31 tails and 1 pound of butter and lost a pound!!!

Hello Offshore and welcome. You sound as though you already know a great deal. You may want to visit the Diabetic section of the forum for support from others who must watch their blood sugars. I'm sure you know that keeping the sugars stable is fantastically important to avoid damage to your vision, kidneys and circulation. For diabetics, sugars that go high on binges can start the slide downward toward retina & kidney damage. Please take care.
