3rd time lucky

Hi Everyone

This is my 3rd try at posting today - so here goes.

Being very new (and shy :o ) I have 3 (really basic ) questions;

Where in Auckland can I purchase Splenda tablets - I will travel ?

What is the word on the consumption/ use/effect of salt when doing Atkins?

In subscribers' experience how vital is the taking of vitamins/supplements?

Thanks - the forums make great reading.

I don't know about Splenda in Auckland (I live in Melbourne), but I find it here in all supermarkets. It's right next to sugar.

Salt ... I don't touch it. I use No Salt, which is a substitute. The idea behind not having salt is that salt causes water retention.

Supplements ... I take a good multi and that's about it. If you're eating a good balanced diet (meat, vegies, salad and some fruit), you probably don't need to spend $s on unnecessary supplements. I've been experimenting with L-Carnatine before/after exercise, but it's hard to tell if it really makes a difference.

Good luck with the diet.

Thanks Allison, again for taking the time and the useful honest info.

You are doing well :)

Thanks for the encouragement. I've found this way of eating much easier than low fat. I've even turned from being a vegetarian to a meat eater! I've never been so healthy and fit. I've been doing 'maintenance' for the last few months and have just started doing weight loss again. Let's see if I can get rid of those last 5 kilos, the hardest of all.

Hi Maca, I really should be tucked up in bed but im too busy following you around ;)
SPLENDA is not a tablet its a powder. You use it just like sugar. Dont weigh it as its very very light you measure it. You can cook with it , its great!!
Its usually with the baking stuff where I shop, or just ask like I did, our local 4 square gets in it now especially but I notice Im not the only one buying it.
I use splenda on things where it makes a difference and sugromax in my hot drinks. Sugromax is much cheaper but a little of each can give a better more natural taste in my opinion :)
Also Sucryal is like Sugromax but only 1/2 as sweet for the same price or a little more which explains my choice.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks Bloom
I too should be hitting the sack but there is just so much to read on this site!!

Have seen the powdered Splenda but had heard that the tablets were also available in NZ.

Thanks again
