Jumping on the bandwagon

Greetings. I've been at this now since December 20. Yep, right before the holiday season, and I'm grateful for that as I was able to bypass all the baking. (I ate whipped cream with saccharine for my treat).

I'm not weighing at all (don't have a scale, I've had bad experiences with them!), but I can tell from my clothes that I'm getting a bit smaller. Yep, back in last years jeans (but are they tight!)

I've been doing very well on Induction. But... I bought some Advantage bars, you know, just to have on hand, and ate one, then ate two! It threw my ketosis right off, and 3 days later I'm barely pink. Oh well, live and learn.

I'm looking for buddies and support. I've been reading the forum for a while, and it sounds like we have some wonderful folks out there.

Welcome to the forum Jane!

Yep those sweet treats can still cause binges and cravings - just one of those things we need to watch out for.

Just recognizing what gets us off track is a major success!
Try to stay away from artificial sweetners for a little while. I found by not having sweetness during the day, the less likely to over do the sweet stuff.
Congrats on your weightloss so far. Many more successes on the way!

Thanks guys. This morning I'm still not peeing pink! Dr Atkins was right in my case about how how it can take days to return to ketosis after indulging in carbs. I'll take the lesson though!

I have high expectations for today being an awesome day. I also posted a question about aspartame. what do you guys think of that? Do you indulge? Why are the other sweetners ok, but not that one. The book, I find, is very vague on his reasoning. It doesn't mention a metabolic reason. Did I miss something?

:)

thanks for the replies. I'm not feeling alone here anymore!
