ECC / Useable carbs

I use the "Lean For Life" program, which includes using the ketone sticks to measure ketosis.

Just a quick question ... in my book, it lists 'actual carbs' and 'useable carbs'. Would my 'useable carbs' be the same as the 'ECC' reading listed on the carb counter? Thanks for any help!

Hi nuts4tim!

Yes, the ECC (effective carb count) is the same as "usable carbs". They are both a measure of the carbs that your body can actually digest and would therefore have an impact on blood sugar/insulin production.

Thanks

I thought that would be the case but figured it didn't hurt to ask. :)
