I'm a bit shaky today

Woke up with shakes today. Day two. About to eat eggs and goat cheddar omelet. On my diet, cannot have dairy (goat okay) or wheat (spelt or rice okay in moderation). No pork either.

Why shakes? Why after one day?

I believe that is normal. The Induction phase of Atkins does warn you about feeling icky for the first couple of days. Just hang in there and it should improve tomorrow or the next day. I felt horrid for about 3 days I think. But its worth it for how much better I feel now!

You will be ok. On my second day I had energy surges I guess you could say, and I would get the shakes but only momentarily.
The third day the shakes were gone and I felt weak, mostly in my legs. Forth day GREAT, Fifth day GREAT and today my sixth day I feel better than ever. You are probably going through withdrawels.
Hang in there, you can do it!!

Odds are that you are going through sugar/carb withdraw. Your symptoms sounds like when (before this WOE) I would have blood sugar swings - I would get light headed, dizzy, weak and sometimes sweat! Now that my blood sugar is level - no more problems. The first few days of LC eating - they were rough, but you can get through it.

If you feel you are getting way to shaky - eat a little cheese or something LC - it may make you feel a bit better.

Hello
My personal experience with induction was quite unpleasant. I had the "shakes" and terrible anxiety almost the whole time. I hope this doesnt frighten you, because I am so unbelievably greatful I stuck with it. Everyone has different symptoms of withdrawl during induction, and most people only experience withdrawl for a few days. Sticking with it was the best thing I did in 2002!!! Welcome to the board!!
