Just starting out
I was just getting ready to start the Akins diet and a friend suggested I wait till after Thanksgiving. I know I will not be able to keep up the Induction on that day for many reasons (where I'll be, who I'll be with etc) but I thought I could do it until then and then go back on Friday and do a complete 14 days then. This would give me 7 days before and 14 days after. Would this be hurting me, should I wait until that Friday to start completely? Thank You for any help you can provide.

Dont wait
Dont put off till tomorrow what you can do today  Try to think of this as a way of life... not just a diet for a set period of time. Make it a lifestyle change and start right now. I'll be you'll find lots of low carb stuff at your Thanksgiving meal.

Welcome stevie,
I am not sure about this. Personally I think that you should wait until after Thanksgiving, only because you are not very experience with the pitfall of dieting in a festive environment. You could study everything on the site to get a better understanding. Thanksgiving supper will give you a good idea of what life will be like for you while on Atkins. The do's and don't. Induction is easier if you do it in one shot . The second time around is a bit more difficult. Get your house ready , then go for it with no turning back. :sunny: |
