LC & Shift Work??

I just read an article in GNC's "Let's Live" Magazine that addressed the idea of a diet for shift workers. It states that the "artificial environment of shift work plays havoc with your metabolism", and contributes to "metabolic syndrome", which involves obesity, high blood fats, impaired glucose tolerance and hypertension. Their suggestion to combat the problems of shift work...."a high-protein, low carbohydrate diet."

I've worked a rotating shift for almost 3 years now, and if LC helps with the shift work blahs, it's just one more motivation to stick with it!

I also noticed several more references in the magazine to eating more protein and starchless carbs, and no sugar. Is LC becoming more acceptable? Let's hope so!

I would think that there is something to the theory you read about. Especially since shift work messes with your normal eating patterns so badly.

 I didn't know shift work was that disruptive to metabolism. :exclm: I worked midnights for six straight months. I left because I was moving, but man - my body could *not* have handled it much longer. I was going nuts.

Wow - another reason I've ended up glucose-intolerant. Hmm.
