Entering LC Foods into Fitday?

[I'm brand new, so please be gentle if this is the wrong forum for this question. :) I'll be happy to re-post somewhere else, just point me in the right direction.]

I read several posts on this board about fitday.com, went to check it out, and dove right in. But I immediately hit a snag... I needed to create a "Custom Food" for a CarboLite Crispy Caramel Bar (which are FABULOUS, by the way), and couldn't get it to work. This bar has zero "net carbs" because all 17 grams are sugar alcohols. Here's the dilemma: if I put in 17 grams of carbs, my carb count and ratio would look way too high. If I put in 0 grams, it won't accept the food because the calorie counts don't add up. Help??? :daze:

Those bar things are a problem. You could either accept the bar's statement that there are "only 2 carbs". Or you could be suspicious. The basic advice is "your mileage may vary". Some people stall completely if they eat either the meal bars or the "candy" bars. Other people are unaffected & keep losing.

I think you should base what you do on how you lose. Sugar alcohols or glycerine and our reaction to them are very individual.

Don't worry about fitday. You can always add the carbs you have decided to use.

What I do is... Put the whole amount of carbs in the carbs and put the same amount in the fiber. At the end of the day I subtract the fiber from the total carbs for my net carbs for the day. I couldn't think of anything else to do.
