Dateline NBC - low fat strikes back...

Well, they are at it again on Dateline NBC...

Looks like not everyone at Dateline liked what Josh Mankiewicz had to say about Atkins. Keith Morrison has a go at him about his diet and his reporting.

I still agree with him about dietitians - why don't they want us to enjoy anything we eat?

Comments?

Hi Dawn,

I saw that program last night, too. Supposed to be "tongue in cheek" I know, but that dietician saying, "just eat half of what you eat now" really annoyed me. Most of us with weight problems are already eating a lot less than our skinny friends and family.

Worse, thousands of overweight people still believe that garbage. I wonder if Dateline will ever have a "positive" LC professional on the show.

Hi Dawn and Judy!

I saw that too, and actually sushed the bf so I could hear it all. ("oh, the t.v. is more inportant than me?") Well, yea, right now it is.

If I followed the dietation, I'd be eating 600 calories a day. Wow, now that's healthy.
I think Dateline should get out of the 'diet' business.
Peace,
Brenda

Actually, in Josh Mankiewicz' piece he interviewed Barry Sears. He also poked fun at Dean Ornish to his face. It was fun. There's a link to Josh's piece in the middle of this article.

What I find very interesting is that there is no science quoted in this piece. Low-carb proponents have studies to back them up, low-fatters don't. I'd like to see Voyager send them her post that summarizes the studies that have been reported on this forum.
