muscle twitches

I've been having subtle, non-painful muscle twitches(small and loclaized-not the whole muscle belly) throughout the two week induction program. Stretching and flexing the muscle stops them only during those activities. Does this sound like a pottasium deficiency.

No, potassium deficiency tends to be characterized by muscle fatigue. Spasms and or cramps is more a calcium/magnesium supplement deficiency. The two minerals work in tandem and it is the magnesium that allows the other minerals in your body to carry out their jobs more effectively. This is why supplements often come in a cal / mag combination. The ratio is usually 2:1 (cal to mag) with doses of 333mg cal / 167 mg magnesium.

You want to be sure you're getting a chelated or citrate calcium and not calcium carbonate from oyster shells - it's hard on the tummy and not very well apsorbed.

RDA for cal is 1000-1500 depending on age/sex; and 400-600 for magnesium also depending on age/sex. It's best to divide the dose up during the day, take one pill with each meal and save one for an hour before bed. Magnesium is very soothing and increases the quality of your sleep.
