Severe leg & hip cramps

I need some HELP I have bben expericing some severe leg cramps in the front part of my calves around the shine area for the past 8 days. I have increased my citracal calcium tablets from 2 a day to 4 a day including my multi vitamin I have been taking 1800 mg of calcium tabs for the past 3 days and the cramps are still there. I am even having these cramps in my hip and gluts area all this in the same leg. This morning I stopped and bought myself a small banana even though I know I am not suppose to have it just to see if it would help (NO) it hasn't. These are keeping me awake part of the night any suggestions (PLEASE).

Potassium

Potassium is the key. I believe you can get it in tablet form...but you can also receive it through eating broccoli! Broccoli has allot more that a banana and a whole lot less carbs. I have the Charlie horse for a while…until I started eating the broccoli on daily bases. Look at the vitamins section also…or you can get the doctor to prescribe them.
Good Luck,
