US Military Accidentially Proves USDA Food Pyramid Guide Is Wrong.

The O'Reilly Factor - Fox News TV July 15, 2002

Bill O'Reilly reported on the condition of the Al Qaeda Taliban enemy captives being held at the Guantanamo Bay Military Base in Cuba. The military representative described the diet given the detainees as one which appears to be in accordance with the USDA Food Pyramid Guide:

Moderate to low in portions of protein and fats.

High in portions of carbohydrates.

The detainees major complaint was "not getting enough to eat" and yet the result is an average weight gain of 14 pounds each in just a few months.

One might make the excuse that the detainees are not allowed to exercise enough, but their activity is not much different from that of a typical office job.

This is an excellent but accidental experiment which is proving that the USDA Food Pyramid causes people to get FAT while still leaving them HUNGRY.
