Pork Spare Ribs?
Hi Karen,
I bought some pork spare ribs yesterday and can't find a suitable recipe. The only likely one I found was from Low Carb Luxury, but that included items not available here (brown Sugar Twin, keto lemonade). Help? Roz |
Hi 'bud!
What I usually do to get ribs started is salt and pepper them then put them in a large pan with a little water, cover them with foil and bake at 300F - 150C - for 2 hours. After they're done, I make up a sort of BBQ sauce from tomato paste, vinegar, soy sauce, hot peppers and artificial sweetener to taste. I slather it on the ribs and broil them until crispy and brown. You can also make a "dry rub" - paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, dried thyme or whatever herbs you like. THen brush the ribs with oil and coat with the spice mixture. Bake at 350F - 175C - for about 20 minutes. HTH, Karen |
HTH? But of course!
Karen, I wound up cooking them in a very slow oven in a marinade of tomato paste, red wine vinegar, soy sauce and a little Splenda. They smelled a bit strange :D but tasted okay...ish. Very tender. Next time I'll try the dry rub - that sounds good. Roz |
