Could this be a problem?

I have around 2-3 hotdogs a day and i heard the nitrates could keep you out've ketosis. I haven't noticed the ketobreath ever since induction and it's been weeks.. could this be a problem?

Hotdogs are processed meats. So that is probably what is keeping you out of ketosis.

They normally are stuffed full of fillers, sugars, salts and nitrates which is why you should steer clear of them

I'm not sure if not noticing ketobreath is the best measure of if you're in ketosis or not. If you continue to lose, don't worry too much...

but the nitrates and fillers and colorings can't be healthy for us, eh? Try Hebrew National beef franks--available at most grocery stores, a bit more expensive, but yummy? wow, they're good--and free of additives

Found these in Randalls grocery store, if you like hot dogs, you have to get some !

"Hebrew National Beef Franks"
"No fillers, No by-products, No artificial colors or flavors"
And there Kosher !
One Frank = One Carb (I think from the Soy protein ?)

Wouldn't soy protein be considered a filler?

Things to ponder. :D

Yes, I try generally to stay away from processed meats that have fillers in them - even the patties in hamburgers have some. Usually I stick to steak, chicken and fish but I do have the hamburgers, just not as a staple!!

Sodium Nitrate

I believe all hot dogs do have sodium nitrate though.
I am attaching an ingredient list from Hebrew National which
I love.
Reading from other posts here, it seems that they work perfectly fine on induction.

Ketone breath - once you have it, you'll never forget it. Neither will your friends and family.

Most people describe it as metallic. I think it's really horrible and I can't come up with a similar scent that's recognizable enough to explain. Mine is usually stronger an hour or two after eating a low-carb, high-fat meal.

:q: Ketone breath doesn't sound very desirable to me; what can you do about it? Does this condition continue as long as you are eating low carb/ high protein??
