veggies? Fruit?

Can anyone tell me the three best veggies to eat and if any fruit is allowed. Thanks

kakeef, since you're doing 'your own plan' that's not really something we can answer.

Playing with LC is a lot like playing with fire - you can get burned quite seriously. There are guidelines that you must follow or your health will suffer. I notice you haven't read any LC books - this would be a good place to start. On the right of every page there is a link called "Which LC plan is right for me?" I suggest you click on it and have a look at the many that are reviewed and described therein. Once you choose a plan get a copy of the book - you can buy one or you can get it from the Library. It is a small investment in your health and well being.

This forum is a wonderful place to supplement your information and offer and receive advice and support, however it is no substitute for the book. Your health is something you should not play around with.

Happy reading.

It is all a learning process by trial and error. in the beginning i did great with no fruits/vegis except salad. then i started eating tangerines and apples. my body said "no way" i started to not lose. so right now the only fruits i can have without noticing a change in weight are strawberries and i only have them twice a week. for vegis, i mostly stick to romaine lettuce and broccoli.

but just to tell you, i am only 4 ft. 11 in. so every little thing for me counts because of my height.

good luck!!

p.s. if you are worried about craving fruit, eat s/f jello with whipped topping. it is great.l

Thanks Lisak for the reply. I went out and bought the Atkins book today and I am in the middle of reading it. Thanks also for the SF
Jello hint. If you have anymore I would appreciate them. The sugar thing is going to be really hard because I am a sugar addict.
I made up my mind though that being thin is much better then the quick high you get with sweets. This is day two and I already have a headache because I miss the sugar, I guess that will pass though, right? Anyhow thanks again I really do appreciate everyone that is offering me help.

Yes, the headache will pass. It may be gone by tomorrow or it may stick around for a week. Don't worry about taking a bunch of pain killers for it - they won't help. The cause of your headache is not something that any of them are designed to deal with it. It will simply go away of its own accord. About the only thing you can do to speed it up is stay REALLY hydrated.

I fully back up what Nat said - it is not a very good idea to "do your own" LC plan right from the start. The basic plans are the result of working with thousands or even tens of thousands of patients full time over a period of years or even decades. Trust that they know what they are talking about including a lot of subtle issues that never get discussed in the books. Once you have educated yourself about LC and about your body's particular responses then you can start modifying the basic plan to suit your needs in an informed way.

The real good news is that if you go cold turkey from the sweets and processed carbs you can usually break the addiction during Induction and the willpower you will need to avoid them after that is nothing compared to what it would have taken before.
