3 questions

1. Kim, how much Splenda is there in one sachet - I bought a box not the sachets. The cheese tarts were not great - very bitter if anything. Where did I go wrong?

2. Anyone, are ketosticks vital? Are they expensive? Where can I get them?

3. What brand of Potassium is good?

Thanks, Lucy

Sorry, I can only help you with the one answer.

Ketosticks are NOT vital. Once you are in ketosis (between 2-5 days of starting LCing) unless you binge on carbs, you will most likely stay in ketosis. Some people find that the daily confirmation is good encouragement. They are not expensive at all, and you should be able to get them at the pharmacy (or chemist?).

Hope this has been a bit of a help to you.

You can buy Keto-Diastix by Bayer at your local chemist. Mine was $15.95 for 100. Make sure you keep them cool - so don't leave them in the car if you have more shopping to do. :)

Splenda and Ketostix

Hi Lucy.... the splenda works out like this...

sachets's are condensed.. So 1 packet is equal to 2 teaspoons of the boxed stuff. Both 1 sachet and 2 teaspoons of boxed is equal to 1 gram carb.

Regarding the Keostix. They are not available everywhere in Australia. In some pharmacies you must be a member of the diabetic association to be able to buy them for less than $70 a bottle.

However, there are a few places where this is not the case. I found mine at The big pharmacy (I thing Roy Young) in Westfield at Chatswood. They were $17 for 100 sticks.

I don't use them very often at all... I suppose its important to use them when you are trying to determine your CCL in OWL?

Cheers
Kim
