hello all.
i posted this idea at another lc board, trulylowcarb.com. i thought the food channel should produce a lowcarb program. at the moment i have e-mailed sara moulton requesting the e-mail address for food tv. i'm hoping for a response. once we have the address we should all inundate food tv with letters requesting lc tv. hey, i just remembered that food tv has just gone canadian, food tv canada. i'm going to check to see if they have a site.
it would be a good idea to start a new program when they're just starting up.

I think it's too early to expect networks to offer low-carb programs, such as low-carb cooking. Having said that, I think emailing them is a good idea, just to see what they say. Maybe one day they'll have Karen as a guest? :)

i was actually thinking of karen as the host. all the hosts on food tv canada are chefs with real jobs. lol!

Thanks for the compliment guys :)

The procedure for TV is shows is submitting a proposal, having it approved in principal, finding a production company, shooting a pilot and shopping it around. This is quite a bit of work! Generally, it is the host that makes the show--most people don't care what the host is cooking. It just has to be believable.

I have to agree with Wa'il. The world is not quite ready yet for the LC Movement!

Everytime I watch one of those cooking shows I think how wonderful it would be if someone would do a show for LC.

However, I think at this time it is just a nice dream. Perhaps, we could convince some of the hosts to do themes around LC sometimes.
