Dumb question: peanut butter

Is there, has there been, or will there every be a sugarless peanut butter ???

There are so many products out there that are available in sugar-free versions, but PB has never been one of them from what I can see. Anyone know ?

There are lots of peanut butters that don't have sugar added. I use Kraft Unsweetened/Unsalted. It has 2.3g carbs / tbsp. Look for natural peanut butter, I think it is usually just peanuts, I believe you can even make your own.

Also, many bulk or nutrition stores have peanut butter that is all natural. Apart from sugar you want to be sure there's no trans fats in it (Partially hydrogenated oils).

I'll take a look for the Kraft, thanks. :)

Any ideas/tips on how to make it myself ? I've rediscovered a love for my food processor lately.

homemade peanut butter

Buy 1.5 to 2 Cups of roasted peanuts (no shell), unsalted.
Put in the food processor, press Start. Add salt to taste only, as it turns from coarsely ground up nuts to finely ground up nuts. It should eventually turn into a "paste" or "butter" though you might want to be prepared to add a "tich" of peanut oil toward the end to encourage smoothness. Keep refrigerated.

PS: the little handbook for my food processor has 'recipes' for nut butters and sausage and all kinds of stuff; you might want to check yours?
