A dollar in a jar challenge

Hi everyone! :)
Looking for buddies to join me in "dollar in a jar" challange! For every pound/inch lost a dollar will be put up. Once a person accumulates $20.00 dollars it can be spent on a new book, outfit, donation to a favourite charity or whatever one likes. This way the fat can be put into something tangeble and useful. I thought it whould be a neat way to track each other's progress. The possibilties are endless. Anyone interested?

I so think that this is such an awesome idea!

golflady59 Wed, Feb-09-05 21:52

I love the idea and am in. What if we gain, do we take it back out. I have been bouncing around with the same 5 pounds for months now!

Lessara Thu, Feb-10-05 11:38

I love the idea too!

Swt_T Thu, Feb-10-05 11:47

Great idea!!

So wonderful to see all of you are interested! Well, let's do it then. I propose Friday as a weight-in/measurment day (perfect for the weak people like me who might accidently cheat during the weekend but have time to be good afterwards lol). Should we take money out if we gain? hmmm That might be an option. Or we can just not put any untill we loose. As of right now my jar is virginally empty, hoping to have a dollar there at least by the end of next week.
With best wishes to North_Guy, golflady59, Lessara, Swt_T and hoping to see ya'll here soon

I love this idea. $20.00 in could actually mean a new piece of clothing to help replace the old baggy clothes!

Personally, I think that if the dollar goes in it stays in, but perhaps you cannot put any more dollars in until you have lost that extra bit of weight you put on. Therefore, you won't be rewarding yourself for bouncing around the same couple of pounds.

Me, Me, I want to join, this sounds like a great thing to do. I could use the money for new clothes, pampering, hmmm yes it's true the possibilities are endless.

I will weigh in when I get up tomorrow. Marty

oh id lvoe to join i was thinking of doing that as a rewrad to myself every lb lost was a $ to spend!\ lol its a great challenge idea, id lvoe to hoin,. maybe if u gain a lb, and its not water weight ( u dont lose it rightb ack) then u have to lose 2lbs for ur next dollar?

Emmaleth Fri, Feb-11-05 18:26

Welcome Yaberhoo, toopoles and lilpinky!!

Yes, I think a 2lb loss penalty per dollar if you gain is a good idea also. I am 2 pounds down from yesterday (all that water that I have been drinking paid off) but I am not counting it because today is the 1st weight in day.
I can't wait to hear about everyone else's "jar accounts"!

Best wishes

What an excellent idea! Can I join in too? I will put the equivalent of $1, about 50baht into a jar, will that be okay?
I am thinking about putting the jar in a prominent (sp) place in the kitchen, maybe on top of the fridge, maybe even with an unflattering pic of me on it to remind me why I'm doing this!!

lilpinky Sat, Feb-12-05 05:48

How was everyone's Valentine's day? Mine turned out great so far - a big Smooch me monkey with a heart and NO candies!! I am glad about the no candy part, I am easily tempted LOL.

Happy Val's day!
