PAIN after eating Peanuts! HELP!!!!!!!

Have a problem: the past 2 times that I have eaten peanut butter I have gotten SEVERE stomach cramps. Almost like before I had my gallbladder removed. I had a couple of cashews today and BINGO the same problem. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? :help:

Don't eat food that causes problems. If I were you, I'd give up eating peanut butter and cashews. I like both of them, but it has been over two years since I have eaten either, and I have never had a problem eating them.

My thought? Only the obvious: see a naturopath or a doctor.

Good luck.

It sounds like you might have developed a food allergy to these things. I would definitely see a doctor and stay away from them as it could get more severe without warning. Best of luck to you.

It sounds like you have developed an allergy to nuts. My brother in law has the same problem. every time he eats any kind of nut his stomach hurts really bad. I can't remember what the doctor said it was but it has something to do with not being able to digest them. Just my 2 cents.

Not exactly an allergy

The obvious solution: Don't eat them.

It's a sensitivity rather than an actual allergy. I have the same thing with peanut butter, only mine strikes in the lower GI tract, which is a bit more socially challenging. Peanuts don't seem cause the problem, but the truth is, I can live without peanuts and peanut butter. I never liked PB as a kid and maybe my body was wiser than my adult appetite.

Most of the food sensitivity theories will tell you to stay absolutely away for three months, and then gradually try eating them again if you want, but be aware that there may be some threshold that if you eat more than that, you'll get the symptoms back.

Or you can spend $1200 for the Elisa blood test and find out what else you're sensitive to.
