Hi all, just found this site!!
I've been lowcarbing since Feb, before then I was doing a low fat diet, and actually started at a weight of 230!! I was miserable on the low fat way, felt like I was losing a lot of muscle. I am using the "Protein Power", and it just seems like everyone around me is upset with my choice!! Oh well, they won't read the book, so I forge ahead. I have just been dx'd with Hashimoto's disease, I don't have very many symptoms at this point, and am not on any meds as of yet, and still losing weight, keeping with my plan. The news came as a shock, actually, since I had been feeling my very best staying on lowcarb plan. I am very excited to have found this site. Oh, I am 46 yrs. old, have 2 grown kids, and 8 grandkids, and started an exercise program 6 months ago, to which I have added weight lifting. Hope I'm posting this correctly, as I am also new to computer. Pam

Yes, you're doing it right - as far as posting goes, AND as far as low-carbing goes! Congrats on your weight loss. I'm glad low-carbing is working for you. Lots of people find it helps them build muscle, unlike low-fat diets.
