Losing inches... how long til losing pounds?

In an attempt to get the weight loss moving again I've gone back to induction pretty much (with the occasional cottage cheese). The first week I noticed a decrease in inches and not in weight (I assumed because TOM was visiting) but now a few days after TOM left I still haven't noticed any decrease in weight. For those of you who have had periods where you only lose inches and not pounds, when does the scale eventually start moving?

Also, should I perhaps cut out cheese to see if that will make a difference? I know that some people do that and have success.

Yes. Cut out the cheese. You won't know if it makes a difference until you try.

If you are losing inches, do you really care if you are losing pounds????

The goal is to be a certain size, not a certain number on the scale, isn't it? I don't care if I never lose another pound as long as I lose enough inches to fit into a size 6!

That's very true, I really don't care if I never lose any more pounds, as long as I keep losing inches. But, I'm just wondering if other people who have lost inches, not pounds, ever start losing pounds again, and if they notice that it happens after a certain amount of time.

I was wondering the same thing?

I seemed to one or the other at the beginning. I was either losing 10 pounds and 2 inches or 10 inches and 2 pounds! That seems to be evening out a bit now. I lost about 8 pounds this month and I'm finally in a size smaller pants. So it did seem to even out for me. I can't put a time line on it, but I was always happier when I was getting smaller rather than just weighing less.

Good luck!

I have a daughter who's literally whooshed away almost 40 pounds. She loses inches, then she loses a few pounds. She's done this constantly for 8 months. Unfortunately neither she nor I know how long it is between the inches and weight losses. We should pay more attention!

if you are losing inches you are losing fat. you should not concern yourself with how much your body WEIGHS.
