Sodium

Any thoughts on how this affects Atkins eating? Though I have been pretty good at sticking to induction foods, there are a couple of things in my diet that are high in salt (pepperettes, pickles, just salting food) that I wonder if they affect my ability to lose.

Any comments would be very much appreciated (like they always are :) )

if you eat too much sodium it will cause you to retain water and become bloated and gain weight. Try to keep sodium below 2500mg a day.

Use "No Salt" instead of ordinary salt. It will add potassium in safe amounts to your diet. This way of eating tends to be a diuretic so it washes out potassium. Many people need this little extra to help the water move in and out of the cells, avoiding water retention.

I have noticed a big difference when I eat "salty" foods or add extra salt. Seem to gain a few pounds almost immediately. Need to drink extra water the next few days to flush it out! Better avoid the salt!
