I found the BEST snack...
"Just the Cheese" pizza flavor snacks. You can get this in two forms: a small bag that has 2 servings (1 g carb per serving) or a single serving bar (.5 g carb per bar). I have tried four flavors: ranch, white cheddar (yuck, and I love white cheddar), nacho (not bad) and pizza. The pizza flavor is AWESOME, but tastes better in the bag version (the bag has little tiny round pieces as opposed to one big bar). You have got to try these. You can get them at GNC or online at alacarb.com.

Here's a recipe for an easy low carb snack... it was in the Woman's World magazine under ask Dr. Atkins:
Savory Popcorn and Nut Mix 4 cups popped corn 1 can (12 oz) mixed dry-roasted salt-free cocktail nuts 3 tbsp butter, melted 2 tsp minced fresh thyme 1 tsp kosher salt 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp garlic powder Preheat over to 275 F. In large roasting pan toss popcorn and nuts with butter. Combine thyme, salt, pepper and garlic powder; sprinkle over mixture. Toss to combine. Bake 15 minutes. Transfer to wax paper; cool completely. Store in airtight container. Makes 10 servings. Per serving: 7.5 g carbs; 225 calories; 6.5 g protein; 22 g fat; 6 g fiber (NET 1.5 gram carbs Heather P.S. It's delicious and filling. |
I thought popcorn was a no-no...is this for real?
|
Its a no-no while on induction.
|
the just the cheese in the bags are great. I only tried 2 flavors ( ithink nacho and pizza) one I liked much more than the other but cant remember which but OMG was it good!
|
popcorn is way too high glycemic for me to eat.
|
I bought the Garlic and Herb and Nacho flavor. The garlic and herb ones were so strong they got me nauseous, but the nacho ones are better.

Just the Cheese is great but expensive try this:
Heat a non stick pan up then add real parmesan sredded cheese. Turn over. Let sit for 5 minutes. An inexpensive "Just the Cheese" You can also add your own herbs...seasonings. |
Crispy Cheese Crackers
Popcorn is a no-no. I can't eat it anyways as I have an allergy to it. Well, unless I want to break out in excezma. lol.
The URL has a recipe for Crispy Cheese Crackers that's safe for induction as it's all cheese. It has pictures, step by step, and also tells about using different types of cheese and different techniques. http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/cheezits.html |
