Could I be eating too many veggies?

I have just started my new LC lifestyle 4 days ago and even though I've read quite a bit (I read and reread the Atkins Essentials book before starting), everything seemed to make sense before I started but now I'm plagued with questions.
I think the most pressing one at this time is: Could I be eating too many veggies? Here's why: I live in Mexico and it's not unusual for us down here to eat a lot of tomatoes and carrots, I just did a quick search on the atkins website and found out that I shouldn't be eating carrots, so I will change that. I also saw that I should only eat one cup of tomatoes a day during Induction, so I will lower that as well. My husband, who also started low-carbing this weekend has been eating lettuce leaves like there is no tomorrow (his psychological replacement for tortillas), he can eat a whole head of lettuce in a single meal!

My question is could this slow down or stall our weight loss?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Yes too many vegtables (carbs) will slow or stall you. Make sure to stay under 20 net carbs while on induction.
1 medium carrot 5 net carbs.

Thanks!

Yikes! 5 carbs for something that I used to think was so healthy! Thanks for your reply, this just confirms that I need to "rewire" my brain and change my way of thinking. Not ALL vegetables are good. Reading through the posts here is like going back to school. I'm even taking notes!

I always ate more than the 3 cups of veggies during induction but I always stuck to veggies on the induction list. I would have 1 cup of cooked veggies and 3 or 4 cups of lettuce on top of that. For me, I just don't think there is any such thing as too much lettuce although what you put ON that lettuce could cause problems. :)

It isn't that carrots are bad--just a little higher carb than what is good on Induction--and they're high GI. Later on, you can definitely add them back in in moderation. :)

LOL ~ your hubby's lettuce addiction! At least he's willing to give up the tortillas! :) I like leaf lettuce myself for that kind of thing--wrap it around meats, burgers, etc. We also do quite a few taco salads, which are really good.
