Dairy Queen bars

Are 13-gram carb Dairy Queen chocolate bars allowed in phase 1 of South Beach Diet? Thank you.

It doesn't mattter how many carbs they are, but you need to know the calorie count and check the label. Depending on calories, they COULD be used in the 75 free calorie list for the day. What sweetener is used, and how many calories are there per bar??

Thank you, Glenda. the bar is 50 calories, 13 carbs, 3 g sugar, 2g sorbitol. I know the 50 calories makes it permissible, but I didn't understand that the number of carbs was irrelevant. Do these numbers tell you whether it's allowed in phase 1? Thank you.

HI again. Here is a link that will tell you about 75 sweet calories you can have per day. Just check out the EXTRA SWEET CALORIE section. The rest of the information may also help you. Yes, if these bars are 50 calries, you woudl be allowed one within the extra calorie part. Hope this helps.
