Spam and email address
 

Hey you techie people!
Since joining this forum, I have noticed a jump in the amount of spam my email address is receiving. Is there some way to hide your email address so the email bots can't find it? Has anyone else noticed this?

We actually hide all email addresses. So the best way to avoid spam bots is to not post your email in public.

Note that the forum will email you notices of reply to subscribed threads. This is not spam, and you can turn it off by not subscribing to threads, or changing the subscription to no emails.

For the record, I've been registered here for a long time under this email addy and haven't gotten any spam. Try doing a google search on that email address to see if it's posted publicly somewhere. :exclm:
