21.5 lb in 40 days

21.5 lb in 40 days...is this normal? Should I be loosing more or less? I really wish that I would be losing more, was hoping that in the 40 days i would have been down atleast 30. My carb intake is in the 60-100's because of lacrosse and weight training. Should I lower that at all?

Been receiving compliments, feels good when people notice.

Thanks for all the support from all the forum members, been reading posts and getting motivated. Hopefully I will reach my goal shortly, am looking to get down to 200 lb, another 38.5lb by April 18. Is that too much for 23 days?

Also: Would it be wise to go back on induction again?

Just a kid seeking answers, thanks in advanced everyone!

Sounds like you are doing great. Staying busy always helps. I wouldn't worry, people lose at their own pace. Keep up the good work.

I wouldn't put a date to when I want to get to goal. I did that myself and it was a huge let down when I didn't make it by that time. I would look at lowering your carbs if your weight loss isn't going as well as you expected.

Congrats on the loss so far. :)

You are in control. You are losing at a good pace. Your carb count is high in my opinion if you are trying to lose weight more rapidly but that is just me. For me personally I have to keep my carbs as low as humanly possible to lose on average 25-30 lbs a month but you are already doing that. If you lower it you will lose faster but it's up to you.

You are doing well. Remember muscle weighs more that fat.
With the lacrosse and other athletic activities, I would not lower your
carb intake.

Do you have time to chart your foods at www.fitday.com?
If so you will see your percentages, protein, fat and carbs.
Make sure you eat enough fats.

Are you taking supplements? Your body is still growiing until age 25, so you are not like a lot of us over that age. You need to make sure you are getting proper nutrition/vitamins & Minerals even if through supplements.

Good like!

and Good Luck, too.;)

IMHO you are lossing as fast as you should. In all likelyhood at some point as you near your "ideal" weight it will slow down. You're losing a little over a half pound a day if I have my math right and there are those who would say this is actually too much. I don't agree but I wouldn't be trying to lose any faster. Also remember that you trying to form new eating habits and adopt a new WOE. Excellent job BTW!!

Oh my goodness! Yes, that is a fantastic weight loss.

Generally, weight loss that fast is considered to be unhealthy, so I was preparing my standard 'it is unneccessary and a bit obsessive to stay at 20g of carbs' rant, but your 60-100g sounds great, provided you are following Atkins guidelines on GI and the ladder. DO NOT lower it - I don't think it would be healthy to lose faster, it could effect your sports performance for a while as you adjust, and if you lose faster at your weight you could end up with baggy skin issues which are NOT FUN. I would look at how much you are eating - I wouldn't change carbs but just make sure that you actually are eating whenever you are hungry - otherwise your speedy weight loss now could be too fast in terms of plateus later.

Going back to induction is a big no no if you've been successful. See 'the uses and abuses of induction' on the Atkins site.

All in all, I think many people are envious of your results. I would think being very active is helping you out. Continue as you are, and you'll be maintainting in no time (or trying to maintain and not lose more!)
