Dandelion Root Coffee?
 

Hi, just wondered if anyone knew if it was ok to have it, I read that dandelion was good for the liver. If we are ok to have it I totally recommend it, it's yummy. However it does contain lactose so does that make it a definate no-no?

I love Dandelion Root coffee. It is very expensive, does it contained lactose.
How come?

I've been told I can have dandelion root 'coffee' but not from hte jars as they contain sugars. I have to buy the root and boil it up!

I have barleycup from holland & barretts which is quite nice - a bit like a weakish coffee. they've got an offer on at the moment in my local store.

My contains lactose, it's by "Symingtons" and from Holland and Barratt (UK).

Lactose is a sugar.

Barleycup and redbush tea were recommended to me by my nutritionist as replacements for tea and coffee which I can't have on candida or insulin resistance diets.

Just an update on the dandelion root coffee - I finally got some yesterday that doesn't have lactose or other sweetener in. Its in chunks and I blended it in my coffee blender before adding it to my cafetiere and added hot water. Left it for a couple of minutes and then poured as usual. Taste very much like coffee, so will use it frequently, also my homeopath said its also medicinal and helps the liver. Even hubby was happy with it!
