Anyone starting induction?!?!

Was wondering whether anyone is starting induction on 8th March?

Would be great to have a couple of buddies to motivate and compare notes etc!!!

Cheers - Lindy

Lindy,

I'll be RE-starting tomorrow morning . . .

I'd lost 31 pounds but went on a Service Trip for 9 days and gained back 4.5, so I'm going to be going back to a strict 2-week Induction again.

Is this your first time on this WOE? If so, I think you'll like it! Let us know how your first week is going, OK?

Hi Sue!

This is a re-start for me too!!! I have been low-carbing since July and have had some good results ... however! my fondness for cheats has meant that any weight-loss has been wiped out ... also have to cut down on my wine drinking that was also creating havoc with my waistline!!!

Have re-read the induction chapter in the Atkins book and am fired up!

How are you with the water drinking Sue? Do you find it easy? I like it although prefer sparkling water ... makes it more 'interesting'!!!

Lindy!

PS - what are your typical meal plans?

Rosebud Sun, Mar-07-04 16:54

Pick me! Pick me!

Okay, I've already started, but that's because today is Monday 8th here in Oz. (Most of the world is really backwards compared to us. :p )

I've decided to be very bold for once and not weigh myself until at least the end of my two weeks Induction. Possibly because I just don't want to know what I weigh at present... (Hot cross buns oughta be banned)

Great good luck to us all!

Cool!!!! I have actually started another challenge called the 'Formula 1 challenge' ... as I am a F1 nut I thought I would use the start of the F1 season to kick-start my Atkins WOE ... today was the first race and I am 206.4 pounds ... I plan not to step on the scales until the next race in a fortnight ... hopefully by this time I would have dropped to 200 ... fingers crossed!!!

That said though, it is soooooooooooooooo tempting to step on the scales a couple of times a day!!!!

Once I get going, water is no problem--I drink 100oz or more a day of the stuff.

UNTIL I get into ketosis, though, water doesn't taste very good to me. Weird, huh? I crave diet soda and coffee (yep, caffeine addict) the first few days . . . sigh.

The hardest part for me this time around, I think, will be ditching the bars and nuts. I'm going shopping tonight, so I'll let you know what I eat tomorrow! :-)
I'm planning on lots of eggs, chicken, spinach, salad, etc.

Good luck to all those who are Re-starting!!!

Ready, set, GO!

Hi Lindy and Sue,

Well my first day had mixed results. I certainly stayed on Induction okay, but wound up not taking in very much.

My problem was that I'm coincidentally withdrawing from caffeine and wound up with a nasty headache and losing my lunch and...

Today should be a more normal day.

I hope you two have had a great Day 1! :)

Cheers.

Hi Roz!!!

My first day went well - no cheats and pretty strightforward ... sorry about your illness Roz - hope that you are better now!

Will post full meals in my journal!!! Will check in tomorrow!!! ... or do you think that it is a good idea that we have our daily menus on here so we can compare?!?!?

Speak soon!!! Lindyx

My meals will be posted in my journal, but you can put 'em here too if you like. :)

I'm fine today, thanks, and I'm glad to hear you had a good day.

Hi Roz and Lindy!

My first day "Back" went OK, but I felt antsy and hungry for much of it. Carb withdrawal??

Honestly, I could still eat more . . . Isn't it weird how eating carbs can make you want to eat more while you're working them out of your system?? As long as I stay true to the WOE, I have no cravings or hunger pangs. Going off for a day or two brought them all back. Sigh.

Anyhow, I ate the following:

Breakfast 2 eggs, 1 piece Am. Cheese, 2 Jimmy Dean sausage patties

Snack cup of decaf, 1/2 packet stevia, 1 TBL cream

Lunch a big bowl of chicken salad (chicken + mayo) w/lettuce

Dinner 8oz pork loin (cooked w/garlic, Chinese 5-spice, olive oil) and steamed broccoli w/butter

Dessert (I hope I didn't blow it!) A piece of Atkins cheesecake

I drank 64 oz of water, but am still slurping away!

Hang in there tomorrow!

I restarted yesterday too,. My weight over the last year has yo-yo'd (on'n'off LC) by 21 pounds 4 times in the last year. I'm now the heaviest I've ever been.
Yesterday - 1/4 chicken for lunch, staek and salad for dinner and a small bag of macadamias for late night snack.

ButterflyA Tue, Mar-09-04 07:40

Can I jump on here and start today? I know I'm a day late, but I need to go back on Induction for two weeks!

nitwit Tue, Mar-09-04 07:42

Hi ButterflyA!!!

No problem, anyone can join whenever they like!!!

I am enjoying re-tarting induction and it makes it so much easier with others doing it too!!! Remember to have a food log in your journal so we can nosy at what you have eaten throughout the day!!!

Good morning! Day 2 of Re-Induction!

Welcome to ButterflyA and LondonIan.

I think I got Roz's headache this morning, but I am not a caffeine drinker. Is it possible that I have a "carb withdrawal" headache after only having 2 or 3 "carby" days? I was on a very clean low carb Atkins plan for 3 months prior to my "evil carb-fest". I can't figure it out. :-(

Anyhow, food-wise all is well, and I hope everyone is having a great day! I don't have a journal, though, to record my eating. How do you get one?

Sue

Well, today I’ve already drank about 80 oz. of water for the day (and it’s only 12:30 pm my time) so for me, that is a success! :)
