My poem to carbs
 

I wrote this poem the day I decided to start this WOL. I wanted to share it with all of you. I hope you do not think it is corny.

Today I must sever the relationship between us.
There is no way to compromise, there’s nothing to discuss.
I know when I’ve wanted you, you’ve always been right there.
But your presence in my life has caused me great despair.

From this day forward, we can no longer be.
I no longer want to suffer, I want to be free.
I have to let you go if I am going to survive.
I can no longer have you if I want to stay alive.

I know you will call out to me and tempt me every day.
You’ll beckon me to come back to you, tell me it’s ok.
But I will not defeat myself, I will not change my mind.
The trouble that you’ve caused for me wasn’t very kind.

There is no turning back for me, I’m gonna make it through.
I will not let you tempt me, no matter what you do.
I know you will be every where, I will not run and hide.
I’ll stare you in the face and walk away with pride.

It is really very good! :yay: I agree it applies to a lot of addictions.

Now all we need is a good catchy tune and before you know it we will have our very own club song....! ;) Keep it coming!

Thank you Dr. Atkins, for my new way of life,
I'm happy and healthly with so much less strife.
I'm losing the weight now, I'm looking so thin,
I won't even be recognized, by my next of kin!
