fruit??
Hello,
I hope this isn't a repeated question, but i looked around and couldn't find anything. I havn't been able to buy any of the low carb books yet due to expesenses so my question is ... What are the good fruits to eat and what fruit should I stay away from?? Thankyou for your time lightforce |
Once past induction...berries, lower GI fruits.
Stay away from bananas and oranges. |
You don't have a plan on your profile, so I'm not sure what you are following.
Most plans don't allow fruit on the first 2 weeks. After that, berries and grapefruit are great alternatives. Later on you can move on to apples and others. I recommend you pick a plan and read the book. It makes a great difference. Also, Fitday.com is a great website to track what you eat. It gives you lots of info. This site has a gram counter, too. Good luck! |
There's a rundown of all the available plans here...
Which low-carb plan is right for me? What about checking out the library? They should have most of the books you're interested in. The whole scoop on Atkins is on the Atkins website Atkins Nutritionals: Home Whatever you do, don't try to wing it. Get some good, solid footing beneath you by getting the right information. Karen |
Thankyou for your help. I think i will check out the library for a book to follow. It is too hard to try and do it on my own.

If you choose to do Atkins here are some links to help you get started. Remember the foods list is only for the first 2 weeks and after that you ned to read the page or chapters in the book about OWL (ongoing weight loss) to see how and when to add foods back in. You'll be glad to know low GI fruits are one of the first things added back in after more veggies, nuts, ect.
